Horizon High girls lacrosse team claims district championship

The Lady Hawks toppled Lake Nona 20-9 Thursday, April 16, to clinch the district.

Horizon High girls lacrosse team clinched its Class 2A Region 2 District 8 championship Thursday, April 16. 

The Lady Hawks dominated Lake Nona 20-9 to earn the title. Horizon entered the district tournament with a 10-3 record, and now hold a 12-3 record. 

The team has been dominating this entire season, averaging 16.2 goals per game, 2.8 assists and racking up 294 points total. Sophomore Sarah Walsh has led the Hawks in goals and assists, while senior Ana Rampazzo has posted a perfect shot percentage with 86 shots on goal. 

Horizon will play in regionals against Hagerty High (11-9) at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25.
