Olympia High's debate student Jeremy Wesley competed in the Florida Forensic League, Inc. 2026 Novice School State Tournament at West Boca Raton High School Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19.

The freshman won the two-day tournament's humorous interpretation category, which earned him the state champion title. It was his best finish of the debate season, with other finishes being third-, fourth- and fifth-place.

"This is a huge achievement for him and our debate team as he is only a freshman and received such a huge award that proves his huge accomplishment," Olympia's debate team wrote on social media.

The Titans' Gianna Spooner and Pearlen Kaur also competed in the tournament and won second in the Public Forum Debate.
