Horizon, West Orange High boys volleyball teams clinch district championships

The teams won their respective district championships and look towards regionals.

The district tournaments for high school boys volleyball teams began Tuesday, April 21. 

In Class 3A District 4, West Orange High's team secured a bye game in the quarterfinals and topped Ocoee High, 3-0, to advance to the finals. The Warriors took the district crown by sweeping Apopka High, 3-0, Thursday, April 23. 

Across town, Horizon High's team had a similar voyage. The Hawks didn't play in the quarterfinals and swept Dr. Phillips High, 3-0, then topped the No. 1 seed Freedom, 3-2, Friday, April 24, to earn the 3A D5 crown. 

Following the wins, West Orange advanced to 16-4 and Horizon 23-3. 

The bracket for the state tournament has not been published yet.
