Ocoee PD to host Senior Scam Prevention event

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, May, 12, at the Ocoee Lakeshore Center.

The Ocoee Police Department is hosting a free scam prevention event for seniors from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at the Ocoee Lakeshore Center. 

The deadline to register is Monday, May 4. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from experts from the Orange County Consumer Protection, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, IRS, McCoy Federal Credit Union, and of course, from the Ocoee Police Department. 

They will be going over how seniors can recognize and avoid scams. 

There also will be free lunch and raffle prizes.
