Deputies transported to hospital for smoke inhalation after house fire in Dr. Phillips

Two Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies were sent to the hospital to be evaluated after inhaling smoke during a house fire Thursday, July 9, in Dr. Phillips.

The Orange County Fire Rescue was called around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, July 9, due to a house fire starting in the garage of a home at Snowberry Circle, Orlando. 

According to OCFR, the fire did not spread in the house and firefighters were able to contain it, though there was large destruction to the garage. 

Two deputies who were on scene assisting the firefighters get residents out the home were later transported to the hospital for evaluation, after inhaling smoke. 

OCFR said three others were assessed, but not transported to the hospital. 

The State Fire Marshal was contacted to investigate the cause of the fire.
