Off-duty OCSO deputy accidentally shoots own child while cleaning gun

An Orange County Sheriff's Office deputy was cleaning his gun while off duty Friday, July 10, when he accidentally shot his child. 

Deputies soon arrived to Austin Ritchey's Winter Garden residence, where his two children were found with non-life-threatening injuries. 

One of his children had a gunshot wound, and one had injuries from shrapnel. 

The children were transported to the hospital to receive care, and are now back home. 

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
