After Windermere Preparatory School students saw the lack of medical facilities for the community while visiting Arusha, Tanzania, their senior year in 2024, they knew they had to make a difference, and decided to construct a clinic to help residents.
After those seniors graduated, students in the 2025 class knew they needed to keep the project going and began fundraising to bring it to life.
This year, the students from the Class of 2026 used the funds to make the Nazareti Clinic come to fruition through a partnership with Seeway Tanzania.
According to WPS' announcement, the clinic is expected to begin serving the community by the end of July.
"This project is a powerful reminder that when Lakers come together, we can make a lasting impact far beyond our campus," WPS officials said. "We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported this effort and helped turn a vision into reality. ...We're so proud of the difference our students, families, faculty, staff and supporters continue to make around the world."
