New principal announced at Southwest Middle

Southwest Middle School announced a new principal now will take the reins. 

Scott Berkes, former assistant principal at Edgewater High School, now will act as the principal at Southwest Middle. 

“I look forward to serving our amazing students, dedicated staff, supportive families and the entire Southwest community,” Berkes said. “Together we will continue to build on the school’s strong tradition of excellence while creating an environment where every student and adult feels valued, supported and inspired.” 

Parents and students will be able to meet Berkes during the meet the teacher event Thursday, Aug. 6, at the school.
