The Ocoee Police Department recognized four teens from its Explorer Post 2909, for graduating from the Central Florida Law Enforcement Explorer Academy.

The Ocoee Police Department Explorer Post 2909 is a program designed for youth ages 14 to 21 interested in law enforcement careers. Explorers receive hands-on training in police procedures, forensics, first aid, defensive tactics, traffic laws, and more.

Recently, four OPD explorers attended the Central Florida Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, and received hands-on training while developing leadership skills, discipline and professionalism.

One of the four explorers was recognized as the Top Physical Fitness One in her phase, and another explorer earned second place in Tactical Skills, all while competing against other explorers from different agencies in Central Florida.

"These awards reflect the hard work, dedication and commitment our Explorers demonstrated throughout the academy," OPD officials said.
