The American Public Gas Association presented the Lake Apopka Natural Gas District with the APGA System Operational Achievement Recognition for excellence in operating its natural gas utility.

The APGA Operations and Safety Committee selected Lake Apopka Natural Gas District for SOAR level Gold out of approximately 750 APGA members.

The selection was based on demonstrated excellence in system integrity, system improvement, employee safety and workforce development.

APGA President and CEO Dave Schryver said the district was highly rated in all four areas.

"Lake Apopka Natural Gas District consistently demonstrates a commitment to providing natural gas safely and efficiently to all those in their community and as such, serves as a model for all other natural gas utilities in the country," he said.

The district was one of 21 SOAR recipients in 2026 and will be recognized at the APGA annual conference in July in Providence, Rhode Island.
