Orange County Public Schools notified families Tuesday, May 12, of the Canvas app restoration.
Earlier in the week, the application underwent a global data breach due to a cyber-criminal group, ShinyHunters.
Instructure, the parent company of Canvas, came to an agreement with the group.
As part of that agreement, all data was returned to Instructure, shred logs were provided and direct contact with the group no longer is necessary.
As students and faculty return to Canvas for use, intermittent consistencies might occur as the system continues to receive updates for security.
"Thank you for your patience as teams monitor system performance throughout the day," OCPS said.
