OCPS School Board announces administrative personnel changes

New assistant principals and principals were announced during the school board meeting Tuesday, May 12.

Newly appointed school administrators were introduced to the community during the OCPS' School Board meeting Tuesday, May 12. 

Deputy Superintendent Bridget Williams introduced seven new administrators. 

Among those is Maria Gaspar, who now will serve as the principal of Thornebrooke Elementary after serving as acting principal since December 2025. 

"I'm so excited about what we've already accomplished together and I'm thrilled for the journey ahead," Gaspar said. "(I'm) proud to be a Barracuda."

Rebecca Young also was announced as principal of Castleview Elementary after serving as acting principal since April. 

"Thank you to the wonderful Castleview Dragon school family who have been so welcoming to me already," she said. "I feel honored and energized to be you principal and work alongside (you) to achieve all of our goals." 

Other recognized administrators include Tami Hinton and Tamara Preston from Apopka Elementary, Steve Grnya III from Dover Shores Elementary, Lisa Levenson from Laureate Park Elementary and Quenisha Odum from Hunter's Creek Middle.
