Horizon boys volleyball rolls in post-season awards

Three players were named to the All-Metro West team and one given the All-Metro Academic award.

Horizon High boys volleyball team's success has continued into the post-season after its state runner-up title. 

Senior setter Rafael Melo was selected for the All-Metro Academic award. He recorded 714 assists during the season, which set the record for the most assists in a season. He maintained a 5.4 GPA and was in the top five in Horizon's Class of 2026. 

Three players also made the All-Metro West Team. Junior opposite Esteban Tascon, who had 228 kills, 40 blocks and a .289 hitting percentage. Senior outside James Caleo, who had 353 kills, 37 aces and a .439 hitting percentage. Senior middle blocker Joshua Robinson, who has 138 kills, 79 blocks and a .370 hitting percentage. 

Caleo's kills were the most in the school's history and his hitting percentage was the highest in history.
