WINTER GARDEN -- A woman in a bathroom saw a man creeping under a stall Tuesday afternoon at the Dollar tree on West Colonial Drive.

That woman, Kim Allen, said the man was in his 20s with a scruffy look, wearing a do-rag over braids and a backpack.

Allen had entered the store to buy art supplies for students. She found no one in the bathroom when she entered it, but then she saw the man's hairy knee as if he was squatting and screamed, she said.

She confronted the man, who was unapologetic and might have been hiding in a nearby store room in the back of the store, she said.

Nobody could hear the encounter, which Allen said she did not fear in terms of possible video recording but in terms of potential violence of all sorts unto her.

Dollar Tree staff have reviewed security footage that showed the man in the store for more than an hour and cooperated with police to try to identify the suspect.

Allen hopes no parent sends a child to the bathroom alone in public, because this could happen to anyone, she said.

Winter Garden police could apply voyeurism charges to the suspect.
