Home invasion in Winter Garden

A 46-year-old Winter Garden man is in stable condition after undergoing surgery for gunshot wounds received during a home invasion Monday. The incident happened around 11 p.m. Oct. 19 in the 1100 block of Maxey Drive, Winter Garden.

According to police, the victim said several people forced their way into his home through the front door and shot him several times. He was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando.

It is unknown at this time what the motive is behind the shooting, police said, and investigators are not releasing specific information about the victim’s injuries.
