June Marie Harvey, age 78, of Winter Garden, Florida, went home to the Lord on Sept. 1, 2015, at Orlando Regional Medical Center surrounded by members of her family.

She was born on June 15, 1937, in Byrdstown, Tennessee, the daughter of Noah A. and Vera Mae Pierce. She married Forest Freeman Harvey on April 3, 1954, in Jamestown, Tennessee.

She was a loving wife, wonderful mother and homemaker, a pastor’s wife for 38 years being said to be the “Queen of the Parsonage” by her husband, Forest.

She was valedictorian of her 1954 senior high-school class and won the Home Economics Award for all four years of high school. She was a sales associate for 11 years both at the Walmart in Greenfield, Indiana, and Bealls in Winter Garden, Florida. She enjoyed sewing, reading, quilting and working jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of the Cincinnati Clifton Avenue Church of the Nazarene, and she attended the First United Methodist Church in Winter Garden, Florida.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Forest Freeman; two sons, Dr. F. Edwin Harvey and wife, Carol Rogers, of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Mr. Fred D. Harvey and Nicole, of Orlando, Florida; two brothers, Mr. Gwen Pierce of Lexington, Kentucky, and Mr. Doyle Pierce, of Byrdstown, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Vera Mae Pierce (Neal); and her father, Noah A. Pierce; and two infant sons, Richard Neal Harvey and Kenneth David Harvey. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Burial took place at the Winter Garden Cemetery at 9 a.m. Sept. 5, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Winter Garden, Florida. The Rev. Rusty Belcher officiated. A reception followed at noon.
