Three ways local artists can submit work

Local artists have chances to be featured in galleries, art festivals and even outside a government building.

Local artists have three opportunities to enter to showcase their art. 

The Winter Garden Art Association is seeking artists for three upcoming galleries. 

August gallery: “Wings.” The association seeks original artwork featuring the artist’s interpretation of the word “wings.” Submissions are due from July 1-8. 

September gallery: “The Great Outdoors.” The association wants artwork created “En Plein Air,” as well as land, sea and cityscapes. This can include 3D pieces of outdoor sculpture or garden art. Submissions due August 1-8. 

October gallery: “Our Human Condition.” They will accept figurative artworks, portraiture and all works about the human body and social conditions of man. Jewelry, masks and images of tattoos will also be accepted. Submissions due September 1-8.

Orange County Sculpture on the Lawn

The county seeks a temporary sculpture for display at the Orange County Administrative Center.  The winning artist receives $3,500. The sculpture will be displayed from June 26 to May 30. For more information, visit wgart.org.

Art in Odd Places

Art in Odd Places is a visual and performance arts festival that takes place November 11-13 in Orlando. This year’s theme is PLAY, and submissions are due June 21. Visit artinoddplaces.org/orlando for more information.
