A demonstration illustrated the importance of having sprinklers installed at home. This room, which did not have sprinklers installed, was engulfed in flames before the Ocoee fire department would arrive.
Ocoee firefighters put out the fire. In the U.S., fire departments take 6 to 9 minutes on average to arrive at a fire. The Ocoee department takes less than 5 minutes on average.
This room was protected by sprinklers that were able to control the fire before firefighters would arrive to put the remaining sparks out.

There was no shortage of activities at the 11th Annual Ocoee Spring Fling, held March 12. Ocoee residents could paint and take home rain barrels, and kids could participate in activities from rock climbing to a bicycle obstacle course.
The Ocoee Fire and Police departments offered live demonstrations, and kids ages 4 to 18 received free heart screenings, provided by Saving Young Hearts.
