Troopers investigating fatal crash near Winter Garden

The crash, which occurred around 12:30 p.m., closed down Avalon Road in both directions.

ORANGE COUNTY – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Orange County earlier this afternoon.

The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, August 4, at Avalon Road and Flemings Road near Winter Garden.

According to FHP, the male driver of the vehicle, a 26-year-old Clermont resident, was traveling south on Avalon Road. For an unknown reason, he suddenly traveled off the roadway and overcorrected, causing him to cross the northbound lanes and fatally crash into a tree.
