The West Orange volleyball team completed an undefeated regular in fitting fashion, sweeping all three opponents it faced this week to continue its run of consecutive sets won.

The Warriors (22-0) have won 34 consecutive sets spanning 11 consecutive sweeps and the final set of a 2-1 victory over Olympia Sept. 16.

This week, West Orange swept Evans Oct. 10, Windermere for its Senior Night Oct. 11 and Wekiva Oct. 12. The games against the Trojans and Mustangs were rescheduled for this week from earlier in the season due to Hurricane Irma.

The Warriors' success has not gone unnoticed, either.

West Orange is ranked No. 12 in the nation in the most recent MaxPreps Xcellent 25 (linked HERE).

While the team's ultimate goal of making it to state for the first time is still ahead of them, the significance of an undefeated regular season is not lost on coach Ross Usie.

"When I took over the program, being nationally ranked and (going undefeated) was never going to cross my mind," Usie said. "We didn’t really worry about record, we just worried about one game at a time — but it means a lot for them."

The Warriors, the top seed in District 9A-3, will face No. 4-seed Evans Oct. 16 in the district semifinals.

The 9A-3 Championship Game is 7 p.m. Oct. 19.
