The First Academy's girls golf team had an impressive three-day stretch recently, winning the team title for the prestigious Honda Classic High School Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 14, and then winning the District 1A-10 Tournament in Kissimmee on Monday, Oct. 16.

The Royals topped American Heritage, the event's runner-up, by a whopping 16 strokes. Emma Zhao led the way shooting a 71 and a 74 in the two-day event in Palm Beach Gardens.

Two days later, The First Academy broke a program-record with a 9-under-par 279 team-performance at Falcon's Fire Golf Course to win the district title. Sophie Guo shot a 5-under-par 31 on the front-nine, setting a new program-record for nine holes.

Guo is committed to the University of North Carolina and Zhao, the only graduating senior from the team's lineup, is expected to announce her college commitment soon.

Ariel Yu, Meiji Yan and Taylor Zheng also had strong outings at both events to help lead the way to victory.

Next up for the team is the Class 1A, Region 4 Tournament Oct. 24 at North Shore Golf Club.
