The town of Oakland and the Oakland Nature Preserve stepped into the town’s history Saturday, Oct. 20, during the 21st Annual Oakland Heritage and Wildlife Festival. The benefit for the nature preserve was held at Speer Park and included displays by the American Mountain Men and typical blacksmith and Native American tents.
There were musical performances, history lessons, vendor booths selling everything from Christmas ornaments to Boy Scout popcorn and the chance to win some great items in the silent auction.
