Karen Adams found the Kentucky-Derby themed hat she made years ago in her closet just in time for this year's West Orange Junior Service League's Run for the Roses.
She used hot glue to reattach some of the toy horses to the hat, and she was ready to go for the Kentucky-Derby themed event Saturday, May 2, at the Clermont Arts and Recreation Center.
League members and guests wore their largest hats and most colorful attire to enjoy derby-inspired drinks and Kentucky-inspired cuisine as well as casino games and live music.
The night also included a silent auction, bourbon pull, "best dressed" contest and raffles.
All proceeds will go toward supporting local charities in West Orange County.
