The new traffic signals on New Independence Parkway at SR 429 are now fully operational. The lights will direct traffic entering and exiting State Road 429 in Hamlin in Horizon West.

The installation of traffic signals was part of the Central Florida Expressway Authority's $2.3 million project that began in January 2020, in partnership with Orange County, Public Information Officer Kathy Putnam said. As part of the project, crews also widened the southbound S.R. 429 exit ramp to New Independence Parkway to improve traffic flow.
