Tiffany Outland is a dean and the testing coordinator at Prairie Lake Elementary. She has been at the school — and in the education field — for 16 years.

She was nominated by Robert Strength, Prairie Lake principal, who said of Outland: “She does a great job working with student behaviors and mentoring students who often don’t experience success.”

She also worked as the cheerleading coach at Ocoee High School for nine years. She calls it her passion but said she hasn’t had a chance to get back at it.

What do you love most about your school?

I love the friendships that I have built and the sense of community that’s been built along the way.

What's your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is the relationships that I build with students and the difference I make in their lives.

What motivates you and pushes you to do your best?

When I see a smile on a student’s face or when I see a student make academic or behavioral growth, it keeps me motivated to do more.

What's the nicest thing a student or faculty member has done for you?

A student – writing me a thank-you note or coming back to see me after they’ve moved on to middle school and to see the long-term positive affects I’ve had on them.

What’s your favorite restaurant and favorite meal?

Favorite restaurant — Cooper’s Hawk, Bone Fish or RusTeak. Favorite meal — probably a pasta dish

What’s your favorite movie and why?

“Footloose.” When I was little I loved the dancing and music in the movie. It is still my favorite.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

My superpower would be to stop all the violence in the world.

What’s your favorite vacation spot and why?

Any place tropical, or really any place I get to spend relaxing time with my family.  Every year, we take a family vacation in the summer, and I enjoy the quality time spent with each other.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Play with my kids and spend time with my husband. We love going to Disney together or playing board games together.

What’s your favorite book and why?

I don’t really have a favorite book, but I love to read! Currently, my favorite books are probably the “Elephant and Piggie” series; my daughter and I read these together as much as possible before bedtime.

What are some of your can’t-miss TV shows?

Almost any show on Bravo tv or HGTV.

If you could put any four musical talents on an alternate Mount Rushmore, who would it be?

Justin Timberlake, Luke Bryan, Freddie Jackson, Michael Jackson

Tell us about your family

My husband, Cameron, and I have been married for nine years. He is a lieutenant for the City of Ocoee Fire Department.

We have two amazing kids, Ava, 6 years old, and Eli, 3 years old. Ava is a first-grader at Palm Lake Elementary and currently is on the dance team at Perfect Pointe Productions. Eli will be starting pre-k in the fall, and he is super excited to go to school like his big sister.
