When Orange County Public Schools and the Florida Department of Health in Orange County announced West Orange High School's campus would be shut down — with its entire student population being moved over to LaunchED@Home — Monday, Sept. 21, through Friday, Oct. 2, due to cases of COVID-19 at the school, the football team lost out on two more football games.

That's no longer the case it seems for this week, however, as the team's Twitter account announced early this morning — Wednesday, Sept. 23 — that its game against Boone on Friday was officially back on. Though instead of at home, the game will take place at Boone at 7 p.m.

The news came as a welcome surprise, as the Warriors had already seen their season opener against Evans last week get dropped due to positive cases of COVID-19 on the Evans football team.

While the Warriors will finally be able to take the field this week, the following week's game against Lake Mary — Friday, Oct. 2 — is still up in the air.
