Horizon West residents will now have the opportunity to engage in martial arts closer to home.

Chophouse Martial Arts is a place for those over 3 years old to learn martial arts in an encouraging and professional atmosphere. The new business says it focuses on building self-esteem and fitness through structure and discipline.

"Our mission is to mentor, motivate and inspire our students to be more self-confident and disciplined in life," the organization's website reads.

The Chophouse embraces the traditional teachings of Edmund Parker, the founder of American Kenpo, which includes core elements such as bravery, power and physical strength (the Tiger) and fluidity, agility, and mental strength (the Dragon).

The martial arts location offers both children and adult classes.

Chophouse Martial Arts can be found at The Mark in Horizon West at 9245 Miley Drive, Suite 110.
