Ocoee PD hosting Teen Citizen Police Academy

The free program will cover numerous law enforcement topics including firearms, narcotics, K9 demos and the emergency response team.

The Ocoee Police Department is hosting its annual Teen Citizen Police Academy this month. 

The free academy is designed with the intent of providing locals a greater perspective, understanding and awareness for the challenges and decisions law enforcement officers face on a daily basis while safeguarding the community. 

The program will cover numerous law enforcement topics including a police department overview, dispatch tour, firearms, narcotics, K9 demos and the emergency response team.

All participants will receive a free Ocoee Teen Police Academy T-shirt and a graduation banquet will take place upon completion of the program. 

The program is open to teenagers ages 13-18 with no felony convictions. 

The academy will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29 at HighPoint Church, located at 476 Ocoee Commerce Parkway.
