Horizon West residents who love Chick-fil-A soon won't have to drive too far to "Eat Mor Chikin."

The Orange County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved the construction of a Chick-Fil-A restaurant in the Horizon West during a public hearing held June 21.

The new Chick-fil-A will be located at the intersection of New Independence Parkway and East Hamlin Grove Trail. The proposed project includes the construction of a 4,848-square-foot restaurant with a double drive-thru.

Approval of this project was subjected to 19 conditions. According to the commission agenda, some of the conditions for the approval of the project include the following:

• The development will need to adhere to the Hamlin Planned Development — Unified Neighborhood Plan;

• the applicant won’t be able to deviate from any verbal or written promises made at the public hearing where the project received final approval;

• the applicant will need to notify the county of any changes in ownership or encumbrances that may affect the property where this project will be developed; and

• the development plan will automatically expire if construction plans are required and have not been submitted two years after approval.
