BREAKING: No school for OCPS students Thursday, Nov. 10, Friday, Nov. 11

Orange County Public Schools officials announced Tuesday, Nov. 8, all schools will be closed due to approaching Tropical Storm Nicole.

Orange County Public Schools officials have announced on Tuesday, Nov. 8, that all schools will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 10, and Friday, Nov. 11, due to the fast approaching Tropical Storm Nicole.

In addition, based on the storm's forecast and potential impacts on the area, there will be a regular early dismissal on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

All after-school extracurricular activities and extended day programs are canceled Wednesday through Friday.

OCPS said information on the Florida High School Athletic Association football playoff games scheduled for Friday will be forthcoming. 

"We will continue to update you throughout the storm," officials said on the OCPS website. "The district will send messages by phone, email and text. Updates will also be posted on ocps.net and our district Facebook and Twitter pages regarding school operations."  

OCPS will provide information about make-up days at a later time.
