Theatre South Playhouse is preparing to launch its new show "The Sound of Music."

The show joins "The Prom" and "Urinetown: The Musical" for the theatre's 2022-23 Mainstage Season.

The performance will offer a fresh retelling of the beloved classic musical, brought to a new light in the intimate setting of the small theater.

The play is based off of the book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, with music and lyrics by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein.

The show will run at a multitude of times from Thursday, Dec. 1, through Sunday, Dec. 18.

Concessions will be served before and after the show and during intermission. All funds will go directly to the theatre's Acts Of Love and Kindness Youth Education Scholarship Fund and its Diversity In The Arts Guest Artist Fund.
