The town of Windermere is back with its annual tree giveaway event.

The Windermere Tree Board's Tree Giveaway allows locals to drive up, select a tree from the featured menu and have the tree loaded into the car for free.

Available trees this year include weeping bottlebrush, firebrush, live oak and pond cyprus.

The event aims to bring awareness to Arbor Day, which is celebrated by the planting of trees and emphasizes caring for them as a way to sustainably protect the planet's natural resources.

The tree giveaway will take place at the town of Windermere public parking lot located on the corner of West Fifth Avenue and Forest Street. There will be directional signage for the event.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21.
