17-year-old charged after Winter Garden crash injures teen skateboarder

The hit-and-run crash took place on Feb. 16 near Winter Garden-Vineland Road and Lake Butler Boulevard.

A 17-year-old is facing charges following a crash that took place last month in Winter Garden. 

The hit-and-run crash took place on Feb. 16 near Winter Garden-Vineland Road and Lake Butler Boulevard. 

According to the Winter Garden Police Department, the incident involved a vehicle and a teenage boy on a skateboard.

Police say the 17-year-old driver has been charged with failing to stop and remain at a crash with serious bodily injury.

The teen skateboarder still remains in the hospital after suffering serious injury from the crash.
