One dead in fatal crash on I-4 exit ramp to Sand Lake Road

An adult male was pronounced dead on the scene while an adult female was transported with non-life-threatening injuries to the hospital.

One person is dead following a fatal crash that occurred at 5:41 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, on the I-4 westbound exit ramp to Sand Lake Road.

Florida Highway Patrol officers said currently only preliminary information is available as the department's traffic homicide investigators are on-scene investigating the collision.

An adult male was pronounced dead on the scene while an adult female was transported with non-life-threatening injuries to Orlando Regional Medical Center. The two drivers involved are currently pending identification. 

According to a FHP report, preliminary evidence shows the crash involves a 2016 Nissan Sentra and a 2011 Jeep Wrangler.

The report states the Nissan was traveling east on the I-4 westbound exit ramp from Sand Lake Road, and the Jeep was traveling westbound on the I-4 westbound exit ramp to Sand Lake Road.

The Nissan was traveling the wrong way on the exit ramp and, as a result, the front of the Nissan struck the front of the Jeep.

There currently is roadblock on the I-4 westbound exit ramp to Sand Lake Road.
