The City of Winter Garden and the local chapter of the American Legion, Hugh T. Gregory Post No. 63, held a Memorial Day Community Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park.
On the morning of May 27, 2024 — Memorial Day — members of the community came together to honor and remember the local veterans who gave their lives during times of war or while serving in the United States armed forces.
The event included a roll call of Veterans, placement of ceremonial wreaths, speeches from local officials — such as Winter Garden Mayor John Rees and U.S. Congressman Daniel Webster — and the singing of patriotic songs, which paid homage to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
