Ocoee High has hired assistant softball coach Brad Malik as the Lady Knights’ next head coach. Malik replaces Todd Verkennes, who led the program to a 12-11 record in his lone season in charge of Ocoee softball.

“He's no stranger to the team, (formerly) our assistant coach, Coach Brad brings years of experience, a passion for the game and a heart for the players,” a post on the team’s Instagram page said. “Over the years, he's coached countless athletes and helped many earn spots on college rosters.”

Malik’s goals for the team in his first season as head coach are to focus on empowering his player, to help them grow not just on the field but off as well, to foster a love for the game of softball and to help his players in their pursuit of playing in college.
