Apopka High quarterback Tyson Davison announced on his X account that he will transfer to Ocoee High to finish his high school football career as a member of the Knights football program.

“After much thought and discussion with my family, I’ve decided to transfer from Apopka High School to Ocoee High School for my senior year,” he said in a post to his X account. “Grateful for my time and teammates at Apopka. Excited for the next chapter with Ocoee and ready to get to work!”

Over the last three seasons as the Blue Darters' starting quarterback, Davison led Apopka to a 23-14 combined record and in 2022, as a freshman, he helped Apopka reach the Class 4M State Championship game in 2022. Despite falling in the title game to Columbus, 16-13, in overtime, Davison led the team with 187 total yards and scored Apopka's lone touchdown — a 46-yard rushing score — to tie the game and force overtime.

Davison, a 6-foot-1 and 190-pound dual-threat QB, played in 10 games last season, gaining 1,954 total yards while scoring 12 total touchdowns. In the Blue Darters' lone playoff game last season, a 20-19 loss at West Orange High, the rising senior showed just how dynamic a threat he is from under center — on 22-for-37 passing, he threw for 332 yards with three touchdowns and ran for 151 rushing yards on 17 carries.

The Ocoee Knights and their new transfer quarterback will host Davison's former team in the 2025 season opener at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22.
