Athlete of the Week: Charlotte Ozim, Windermere Girls Little League

Charlotte Ozim played a key role in Windermere Girls Little League All-Star team's win by hitting .400, bringing in four runs and scoring a total of three times in the series.

Charlotte Ozim is a part of the 11U Windermere Girls Little League All-Star team. Windermere defeated Dr. Phillips Friday, June 13, in three games (13-5, 8-16, 13-1). Ozim played a key role in the win by hitting .400, bringing in four runs and scoring a total of three times in the series. With the win, Windermere advanced to the Sectionals of the Little League Softball District Tournament on Friday, July 11. 


What do you enjoy the most about softball?  

I like hitting and hanging out with friends.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned from softball?  

Don’t give up when things are hard, and always try your hardest even when things are hard.

What is your favorite softball memory? 

Winning the state championship last year in All-Stars 10U Division.

Who is your favorite athlete and why? 

My older sister Lizzie because she never gave up and is now going to college (to play) softball at Belmont University.

What is your go-to pre-game meal?

Chick-Fil-A: five grilled nuggets and chips with fruit punch.

What is your go-to pre-game hype song?

“Natural” by Imagine Dragons.

What is your favorite non-sports hobby?

I love to play with and build Legos. I always ask for Legos.

What are three things you would take with you to a deserted island?  

A plane, a pilot and a co-pilot so I can leave!

What is your favorite movie? 

“Lilo and Stitch,” both the movie and cartoon, and I also like “Cars.”

If you could have dinner with one person — dead or alive — who would it be and why?  

My great-grandma who lived in Poland. I never got to meet her.

If you could go back in time to a specific period in history, when and where would you go?  

I would want to see dinosaurs and maybe ride on one!

Looking back, what piece of advice would you give your younger self?  

Sports are supposed to be fun, so always make it fun.

If you could ask your future self a question, what would it be?   

Will I still be playing softball when I’m in college?

Who is your favorite superhero? Why? 

Spider-Man because he can climb up walls and shoot webs.

Who is your favorite supervillain? Why?  

The Green Goblin because he rides on a really cool hoverboard.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? 

To fly because it would be really fun, and I can get to places really, really fast.

If you could travel to three places in the world, where would you go and why?  

Hawaii because it’s beautiful there, and the beaches are amazing; Paris because I want to try the food; and Disneyland because I want to see the difference between Disneyland and Disney World.

If you could be an animal for a day, which would you be and why?  

A monkey because they can climb trees, run really fast and they are just a fun animal.

What is your most controversial food take?  

Chocolate is disgusting!

Does pineapple belong on pizza? 

No, because I don’t like fruit on pizza!
