Olympia students to compete at business, entrepreneurship event

Eight Titans are heading to Atlanta, Georgia to compete with thousands of students from across the world.

Olympia High School showed up and showed out at Distributive Education Clubs of America’s State competition. 

DECA is an organization that focuses on preparing emerging high school leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. 

Sarah Hanzaz from Olympia High became state champion. Aubrey Heaton and Blake Vincent were state-runner-ups and Alexis Ownby, Nicolas Thibault, Jiya Gandhi, Ksenia Ebenhack, and Sophia Lin also qualified for DECA’s International Career Development Conference taking place from Saturday, April 25, to Tuesday, April 28. 

This is one of the biggest student-organization events in the world. 

Winners will receive physical awards, scholarships and prestigious recognition.

 “We are so proud of our DECA Titans and can’t wait to see what they do at the international competition," the school posted.
