Three Birds Cafe officially closes doors

Three Birds Cafe has permanently closed its doors Thursday, Feb. 26. 

"There have been so many emotions throughout this entire journey that it’s hard to even put them into words: sadness that this chapter is coming to an end, anxiety about what comes next, but also so much hope because of the incredible community that has carried us through it all," Owner Ashley Morton posted on Instagram.

Morton went on to say the cafe has been everything to her, claiming the location, 2 W. Plant St., Winter Garden, was a dream come true. 

"A corner filled with sunlight that always seemed to give everyone this amazing glow," she said. "We always got comments saying it was 'Three Birds that brought the glow,' and I hope that’s something we carry with us wherever we go next." 

Morton shared she's been in Winter Garden since 2019, when she was only 22 years old, to reopen Melts on Main, revamping the once ’70s inspired eatery. 

In 2021, it closed its doors and Morton went on to open Three Birds Cafe. 

"To this community ... you are the true definition of supporting small business," the post continued. "...You’ve been with me through the early struggles of starting a business, through a pandemic, through the move to Plant Street, through building something truly special, and now through closing this chapter as we prepare for the next one." 

Morton shared she is extremely excited for the future as she knows this isn't the end. 

"Thank you for the past seven years," she said. "It has truly been something special."
