The Ocoee High School teachers, freshmen and sophomores made school history this year.

According to Ocoee High officials, for the first time, ninth and 10th graders, with the help of English Language Arts teachers, scored 60% or more across all ELA categories, which includes ELA achievement, ELA learning gains and ELA lowest 25%.

According to the Florida Department of Education, ELA achievement is the percentage of full-year enrolled students who achieve a passing score of three or higher on the statewide, standardized ELA assessments.

Ocoee High scored 60% in this category.

ELA learning gains measures the percentage of students who improved their score from the prior year to the current year, or maintained a high score of three, four or five.

Ocoee High scored 62% in this category.

ELA lowest 25% measures the learning gains of the lowest-performing 25% of students in the school, focusing specifically on their progress from the previous year.

Ocoee High scored 66% in this category.

"Congratulations, Knight Nation!" OHS posted online. "Thank you for believing in our students and continuing to raise the bar. We look forward to building on this momentum as we pursue even greater success together. The best is yet to come!"
