Hundreds of residents showed up dressed in red, white and blue with brightened spirits, ready to enjoy live music, food trucks and carnival games.
Historic figures Thomas Jefferson, John and Abigail Adams, and Paul Revere made a special appearance at the event, making it all more meaningful.
Jefferson and John Adams signed Declaration of Independence copies for residents to take home, and Revere rode down Lakeshore Drive screaming, “The British are coming!”
The night ended with a bright and colorful firework show over Starke Lake.
