Francesca Stressman, a music education major at Florida State University and Horizon High School Class of 2025 alumna, played a B-flat on her trumpet as a demonstration for the brass players in the Horizon High School Summer Music Camp.
They then hummed the note together before the dozens of students in the beginner band gave the note a try on their respective instruments.
"That was a beautiful sound," Stressman said.
Beautiful sounds could be heard across several music rooms and the auditorium of Horizon High School during the school's annual Summer Music Camp Monday, June 8.
The camp hosted 204 students in first through eighth grades with the help of 101 high school student volunteers.
The two-week camp will conclude Thursday, June 11, with a free concert at 6 p.m. in the school auditorium that is open to the public.
The school is located at 10393 Seidel Road in Horizon West.
