The Advance Auto Parts Foundation donated $110,000 to Orange Technical College in partnership with the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools.
The donation will help support training opportunities and student success in Orange Technical College's automotive and diesel technology programs by providing a financial support for industry-recognized testing, tools and instructional resources as well as helping prepare students for high-demand careers in the automotive field.
“This donation from the Advance Auto Parts Foundation will strengthen our ability to deliver hands-on, career-focused training that leads directly to workforce opportunities,” said Josue Raymond, the senior director at the OTC South Campus. “Through the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, we can expand access to industry certifications and provide the tools students need to succeed from day one on the job. We are grateful for Advance’s investment in our students and the future of the automotive workforce.”
The donation includes $55,000 to help students cover the cost of Automotive Service Excellence exams as they work toward obtaining a Master Technician status; $50,000 in professional-grade tool sets and specialized graduating-student awards; and $5,000 in store credit for tools, supplies and materials to support hands-on instruction.
“We are proud to partner with Orange Technical College as it prepares the next generation of skilled technicians,” said Todd Davenport, president of the Advance Auto Parts Foundation and senior vice president, real estate and development at Advance. “By supporting programs that drive employment opportunities, the Advance Auto Parts Foundation is helping ensure today's students are equipped to succeed while strengthening the automotive industry.”
