Commissioner Nicole Wilson hosting back-to-school drive

The hygiene and bookbag donation drive will take place through Wednesday, July 8, at various locations.

Orange County District 1 Commissioner Nicole Wilson and her team are hosting a hygiene and bookbag donation drive through Wednesday, July 8. 

"Access to basic necessities should never be a privilege," Wilson posted on social media. "With inflation and rising financial challenges affecting so many families, even small contributions can make a meaningful difference. Together, we can help ease some of the burden and support local students wtih confidence and dignity as they head back to school."

They are collecting bookbags, deoderant, wet wipes, shampoo, feminine products, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, body wash and more. 

The drop off locations in West Orange County are:

  • Maxey Community Center, 830 Klondike Ave., Winter Garden
  • Oakland Nature Preserve, 747 Machete Trail, Oakland
  • Windermere Branch Library, 530 Main St., Windermere
  • Winter Garden Branch Library, 805 E. Plant St., Winter Garden
  • Southwest Branch Library, 7255 Della Drive, Orlando.
