The First Academy softball wins districts, ending four-year drought

Following a first-round bye game in the Class 2A, District 7 tournament and a 5-0 district semifinal win over Cornerstone Charter Academy, The First Academy softball team set its eyes on the championship. 

TFA was pinned against the No. 1 seed, Montverde Academy, but persevered with a 4-1 win Thursday, April 30. The Royals won the district championship for the first time since 2022. 

The Royals hold a 20-3 record this season with a No. 25 ranking in Florida. Senior Luna Taboas has led the team with her .700 batting average, which has led to her 28 runs batted in and .722 on base percentage. 

The regional tournament will begin Wednesday, May 6.
