Windermere High baseball assistant coach inducted into FHSAA Hall of Fame

With over 30 years of experience, Ray Evans was inducted into the FHSAA's 2026 Hall of Fame Class.

The FHSAA announced the eight members of the Florida High School Athletic Hall of Fame Wednesday, May 6. 

In the 36th induction class, Windermere High's baseball head coach Ray Evans was added to the list of individuals who have meaningfully impacted high school athletes. 

Evans has coached baseball for more than 30 years and accomplished a 559-251-2 record in that time as a head coach. He has head coached at Miami Beach Senior High, Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High, Charles Flanagan High and Dr. Phillips High, before becoming Windermere's assistant in 2022. With his assistance, the Wolverines won districts for the fifth year in a row and reached the regional quarterfinals before finishing the past season with a 17-9 record. 

He is a member of three other hall of fames: National High School Baseball Coaches Association (2021), High School Baseball Network South Florida (2023) and Florida Athletic Coaches Association (2025). 

In his career, Evans has complied 17 district championships, four regional championships and three state titles.
