Local high schools celebrated multiple players being named to the All-Metro teams.

West Orange High baseball team currently remains in contention for the Class 7A State Championship, and plays for the regional final against Hagerty Friday, May 8. The team that’s three wins away from a state title, had five players named to the 2026 All Metro team. Miguel Acosta, who is ranked No. 19 in Florida and No. 2 in 7A for runs, and Lukas Stirewalt, who is ranked No. 5 in 7A for batters struck out, were placed on the first team, and Braxton Stalvey, Jayden Taveras and Evan Goodmon made the second team.

Ocoee High’s team finished the season 10-14, but at the forefront of the team’s success late in the season was Serico Allen. He recorded 12 stolen bases and was named to the All-Metro first team.
