Two of Ocoee High boys track-and-field athletes take gold at states

At the FHSAA Class 4A Track-and-Field State Championships Saturday, May 9, Ocoee High boys track-and-field team continued to celebrate making school history this season. 

Jaiden Manning became the first male from the school to become a state champion by winning gold in the 100-meter hurdles in 13.92 seconds. Earlier this season, he had broken a school record and won the district and regional championships. Following the field events, Devin Matthews also won the state championship in the 400-meter dash in 47.24 seconds. In the men’s 4x800M relay, the team of Rodgy Prosper, Matthews, Cameron Harrington and Gezavier Datilma placed fifth with a 7:49.29 time. Their time also broke the school’s record by nine seconds.

As a team, Ocoee’s boys placed fourth in states by scoring 31.
