Local high school seniors receive scholarships from West Orange Junior Service League

The league collectively awarded $16,500 to six West Orange County seniors.

The West Orange Junior Service League awarded $16,500 in scholarships to six West Orange County high school seniors. 

The recipients were West Orange High's Danyel Shaikh, who will be attending the University of Florida; Dr. Phillips High's Aaliyah Warner, who will be attending Florida A&M University; Windermere High's Lyvia Brito Navarro, who will be attending Santa Fe Community College; and Ocoee High's Jakilra Green, Jiavana Pierre Louis and MikeDarnell Innocent. Green will be attending the University of South Florida, Pierre Louis will be attending Florida A&M, and Innocent will be attending Florida State University. 

"As an organization dedicated to meaningful community service and investment, WOJSL is incredibly proud to shine a spotlight on these hardworking students as they take the next step in their academic journeys," the organization said. "The league extends its deepest congratulations to the Class of 2026 and expresses immense gratitude to the West Orange community, whose continued support makes these financial awards possible. Empowering local students to pursue their dreams through higher education remains a cornerstone of WOJSL’s mission, and the league looks forward to seeing all that these remarkable individuals will achieve in the future."
